Informations about the package extension-ware

ExtensionWare

The open extension catalog for Shopware 6.

ExtensionWare brings the extensions that live outside the Shopware Store into your administration: open-source plugins from packagist.org, the curated maestrino.org catalog, and extensions your agency or extension provider publishes through their own feeds and repositories. Browse them, check their compatibility, and install, update or remove them - all without leaving the admin, and without touching the command line.

Everything you install also shows up in Shopware's own My extensions, so your shop stays fully manageable the way you know it.

Why ExtensionWare?

Hundreds of free Shopware extensions never make it into the Shopware Store — they are published as open-source packages instead. Until now, installing them meant SSH access, composer commands, manual ZIP uploads + compatibility guesswork. ExtensionWare turns that into a browsing experience:

Features

Browse and discover

A card catalog with search, vendor and category filters, and switches to show only installed extensions or only those with pending updates. Each card shows the live status (not installed / installed / active), the compatibility verdict as a simple colored indicator, and the version. The details view adds descriptions in your language, the README, ratings, pricing, links to documentation and support, and — for free open-source extensions — a friendly reminder that the author appreciates GitHub stars and donations.

Install with confidence

The version picker only offers versions that explicitly declare compatibility with your Shopware version. Broad or vague claims ("works with everything") get a warning triangle. Extensions requiring a newer PHP than your server runs stay visible but cannot be installed — with a badge explaining why. Every install dialog repeats the essentials: extensions from public sources are not reviewed by Shopware or us, so test on staging and keep backups.

Stay up to date

ExtensionWare detects when a newer compatible version of an installed extension exists — newer-but-incompatible releases are never offered. Updates appear as a badge in the catalog and in Shopware's own extension manager. A daily background sync keeps the catalog fresh; a manual refresh button is always one click away.

Bring your own sources

Beyond the built-in catalogs you can add:

Keeps itself current

ExtensionWare updates itself, too: installed as a zip, it updates from the official release archives; installed via composer, it updates through a regular composer update. Either way with a version check, a confirmation dialog and a rollback if anything fails.

Getting started

  1. Install and activate ExtensionWare (zip upload in Extensions → My extensions, or composer require onco/extension-ware).
  2. Open Extensions → ExtensionWare in the administration. On first open, the catalog syncs automatically.
  3. Browse, click a card for details, and install what you need. Settings — catalog choice, your own sources, ExtensionWare updates — live behind the ⚙ Settings button in the top bar.

Requirements

A word on safety

ExtensionWare gives you access to extensions that are not reviewed by Shopware or by us. That freedom comes with responsibility: check the author's work, prefer actively maintained extensions, test on a staging system, and keep backups. ExtensionWare helps with strict compatibility checks and automatic rollbacks — but the judgment call about what to install stays with you.
