Omega Starter Application

Welcome to omega, a minimal MVC framework designed to streamline your PHP development process. This lightweight framework offers essential features for building web applications while maintaining simplicity and ease of use.

Quick Start (4 Steps)

1 Create Your Project

2️ Jump In

3️ Build Assets

4️ Launch!

That's it! Your app is now running. Let's build something awesome.

Frontend Assets (Tailwind CSS + Vite)

The UI is compiled with Tailwind CSS v4 through Vite. The generated folders (node_modules/, public/build/) and package-lock.json are gitignored, so a fresh clone has no compiled CSS: you must install Node dependencies and build once.

For development with hot module replacement instead:

The layout (resources/views/base/base.template.php) loads the assets via the vite directive, falling back gracefully when neither a dev server nor a build manifest is present.

Building Your First Feature

We'll create a user profile feature from scratch.

Step 1: Create Database Schema

Define your table structure:

Run the migration:

Step 2: Generate Your Model

Step 3: Create a Controller

Add your logic:

Step 4: Design Your View

Step 5: Register Your Route

Done! Visit /profile and see your work in action.

🔥 Pro Move: API with Attributes

Skip the route files entirely. Use attributes for clean, self-documented APIs. There is no generator for services: create the class manually (e.g. app/Services/ProfileServices.php):

then register this route attribute.

This automatically creates your route with middleware—no extra configuration needed!

Equivalent traditional route:
