FAQ

After the download, you have to make one include require_once('vendor/autoload.php');. After that you have to import the classes with use statements.

Example:
If you use only one package a project is not needed. But if you use more then one package, without a project it is not possible to import the classes with use statements.

In general, it is recommended to use always a project to download your libraries. In an application normally there is more than one library needed.
Some PHP packages are not free to download and because of that hosted in private repositories. In this case some credentials are needed to access such packages. Please use the auth.json textarea to insert credentials, if a package is coming from a private repository. You can look here for more information.

  • To use Composer is sometimes complicated. Especially for beginners.
  • Composer needs much resources. Sometimes they are not available on a simple webspace.
  • If you are using private repositories you don't need to share your credentials. You can set up everything on our site and then you provide a simple download link to your team member.
  • Simplify your Composer build process. Use our own command line tool to download the vendor folder as binary. This makes your build process faster and you don't need to expose your credentials for private repositories.
Please rate this library. Is it a good library?

SetnGeti

Using SetnGeti allows you to define automatic setters and getters for object properties in your PHP 5.4+ projects.

Automatic setter and getter methods

By using SetnGeti methods, you can eliminate the effort that usually goes into writing needless amounts of get and set methods by just adding an @get and/or @set tag to the properties you'd like to expose:

By adding only an @get tag to a property, you can ensure that the property will only be available for read-only access. On the other hand, a property with just an @set tag will be write only.

Trying to access a setMethod() on a property without @set, or getMethod() for a property without @get, you will cause a RuntimeException to be thrown.

Automatic filtering and typecasting

When setting a property using an automatic setter, you can control the datatype of the property using the @var tag. The @var tag can one of the following types:

When setting the property, its value will be tested and in case of a scalar value be typecasted into the required datatype.

When setting an object to the property value, it will be validated for conformance to the required class or interface name. When an incompatible object is passed, an InvalidArgumentException will be thrown.

Setter Method chaining

The automatic setter methods of SetnGeti allow method chaining by returning the owner object by default. This allows you to write code like:

Property access instead of getter and setter methods

As an alternative to having getter and setter methods added to your properties you might want to access your properties from the outside without marking them public so you can still control access to them.

To allow for this, add the \SetnGeti\Properties trait instead. Now you can access private an protected properties as long as you've added the appropriate @get and @set tags.

I'm not saying this approach is generally a good idea, but with a legacy code base depending on public object properties, this might be a reasonable option to start controlling property access.
