Asyntai AI Chatbot for CakePHP
Add the Asyntai AI chat assistant to your CakePHP app. It answers your visitors' questions from your own content, such as your website, help center, docs and FAQs, in more than 80 languages, day and night.
Works with CakePHP 4.4+ and 5, on PHP 8.1 or later.
Install
Add your widget ID to config/app_local.php:
Or set the ASYNTAI_WIDGET_ID environment variable.
Open your site. The chat bubble is on every page.
Where the widget ID comes from
Open the Install page in your Asyntai dashboard.
The widget ID is the value of data-asyntai-id in the snippet shown there. It
starts with asyntai_.
Creating an account is free, and the Free plan is enough to try the widget.
Options
All options go under the AiChatbot key in your config.
Personal answers
With userContext, the assistant knows who is asking. It can greet signed-in
users by name and answer questions about their own account. Return null for
guests and they get the widget without any user data. User context is part of
the Asyntai Standard and Pro plans.
Placing the widget yourself
Set 'autoInject' => false, load the helper, and print the widget in your
layout before </body>:
The helper also takes widgetId, scriptUrl and userContext options, so one
section of your site can have its own assistant. A page that prints the widget
with the helper never gets a second copy from the middleware.
What the plugin does
- It adds one small script before
</body>on full HTML pages. The script loads the widget after the page has loaded, so your pages always render first. - It leaves JSON, files, redirects, error pages and AJAX responses as they are.
- A missing or malformed widget ID never breaks a page. The plugin shows no widget and writes one warning to your log that says how to fix it.
Answering from your content
Asyntai reads your published pages. Add your website URL in the dashboard, and the assistant answers from those pages. You can also add documents, and question and answer pairs.
